SendHelp! app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: Michael Kacos
First release : 21 Nov 2011
App size: 3.51 Mb
SendHelp! Could possibly save your life or that of your loved ones. In the unfortunate event where you need help and are unable to call for help yourself (some sort of trauma, intruder in the house, abduction, etc…), send help will send a text message to up to three emergency contacts, requesting they call for help on your behalf. The message includes your name, a request to send help, a link to Google Maps showing your location as well as longitude and latitude coordinates to give to 911 operators.
This app should be on everyone’s phone! In addition your kids should have this and be trained to use it! The app is extremely simple to use. Once the emergency contacts are entered, simply press the one big Send Help button on the main screen, and that launches iPhone’s message screen. Pre-populated with your emergency contacts as the recipients and the formatted message including the link to your location on Google Maps as well as your longitude and latitude coordinates. An APPROXIMATE address provided by Google Maps is also displayed, but please note addresses are not always accurate so Latitude and longitude are much more accurate in determining location.
Note, SendHelp is merely a tool to aid you in getting help, it makes no guarantees that help will be available. GPS and Cell coverage are necessary.
